You may also be able to receive an official donation receipt for your gift.<\/p><p>What to know before you give<br \/>Qualified donees, which include registered charities, play a vital role in Canadian society by offering a diverse range of services to people in our country and around the world. They work tirelessly to provide food and shelter to people experiencing poverty, operate schools, offer religious services, and run hospitals, among other activities.<\/p><p>Unlike non-profit organizations, qualified donees can issue official donation receipts for gifts they receive.
